PUBG error codes and how to fix them

Find the code or message you see when PUBG will not start or throws you out. Each row gives the cause PUBG Support names and the steps, in order.

  1. Install all Windows updates (Settings › Windows Update › Check for updates), then restart the PC.

BattlEye Corrupted Data [25]BattlEye's files are damaged
  1. Close the game completely.
  2. Delete the BattlEye folder inside the PUBG install folder (Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG).
  3. In Steam: right-click PUBG › Properties › Installed Files › Verify integrity of game files.
  4. If it continues, do a clean reinstall (see the questions below).
Starting BattlEye ServiceThe BattlEye service did not start
  1. Press Win+R, type services.msc, find the BattlEye service and click Start.
  2. Close the game completely.
  3. Delete the BattlEye folder inside the PUBG install folder (Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG).
  4. In Steam: right-click PUBG › Properties › Installed Files › Verify integrity of game files.

  1. Close every program the game does not need, especially helper, graphics enhancement and system monitoring programs.
  2. Turn off GPU, CPU and RAM overclocking.
  3. Scan the PC with your antivirus and remove what it finds.

  5. Restart the game; reinstall it if needed, then restart the PC.

  1. Run Steam and PUBG as administrator (TslGame.exe is in PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64).
  2. Reinstall Steam.
  3. Remove all Steam launch options for PUBG (right-click PUBG › Properties).
Frequency Out of RangeThe monitor is set to a mode it cannot show
  1. Update the graphics driver; if the problem began after an update, go back to the previous driver.
  2. Set the monitor's refresh rate to one it supports (Settings › Display › Advanced display).
Unable to connect to serverA firewall is blocking the connection
  1. Allow PUBG through your firewall and antivirus.
  2. Close programs that use a lot of bandwidth, restart the router and use a cable if you can.
  3. Check @PUBG_Support on X: during updates and maintenance, connection errors are normal.

What is a clean reinstall of PUBG?

Uninstall PUBG in Steam. Then delete the TslGame folder in %localappdata%, the file BEService_pubg.exe in Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye and the PUBG folder in Steam\steamapps\common. Clear Steam's download cache, restart Steam and install the game again.

PUBG keeps crashing. What should I send to support?

PUBG Support asks for the crash file: open %localappdata%\TslGame\Saved\Crashes, zip the newest crash and attach it to your ticket, with a DxDiag report (Win+R, dxdiag, Save All Information).

Why does PUBG say a program is interfering?

PUBG's anti-cheat stops the game when a program it does not allow runs next to it: helper or graphics enhancement programs, overclocking or system monitoring tools, or malware. Close or remove them and start the game again.
